Latest Updates from Our Project:

Manufacturing almost complete...
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Jul 14, 2022 at 10:25:31 AM

Hey Survivors!

Checking in with a quick update concerning manufacturing...

We've just received word from our manufacturer that printing and manufacturing will be finishing up in the next couple of weeks and we'll be receiving the MPC (final product) of all our products by August 1st for approval. From there, with a thumbs up from us, everything will be packed up and put on a boat to ship to us by August 31st.

With a month of shipping plus customs, we're looking to receive the games by October and begin fulfillment. Not inline with our last update and estimate, but with delays out of our control, we're just happy we'll be fulfilling orders before the holidays.

We also should be receiving additional rewards like shirts, stickers, and pins in the coming month, so we hope to show some of those off as well the MPCs once received in our next update, which will be provided next month (August).

Until then, we hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Not too long until Shark Week... and then not too long after... FLOAT: From the Deep.

Have a good week, Survivors!

PPC Approved and Next Steps
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jun 18, 2022 at 06:02:29 AM

Hey Survivors,

As we mentioned during our last update, we were in the process of approving the PPC as well as submitting any revised art files for manufacturing. We also were making a final decision on the the color of the miniatures. As that has all been completed, we're now going through the manufacturing process. This is usually a month to a month and half process.

Once completed, we will receive an MPC, the final manufactured copy of the game. So we're probably looking to receive that towards the end of July, or right when August starts.

Once the MPC is received and approved, the games will be packed and prepared and shipped to us by boat (which is a month+ process)

Harder dates will be provided by the factory, but these are pretty safe estimates.

PPC & Miniatures

For fans who attended AwesomeCon in Washington, DC and dropped by the Mixtape Massacre, they got to see the PPC up close and personal, including the final molds of the miniature upgrades. As you'll see in the pic, by adding color to them, (yellow for the life raft and red for the shark fins and tentacles) they really pop off the board now.

When we originally had done them, they were a basic gray, and they blended in so much with the board, that without painting them, they were very hard to read them during play. So we asked for some options for coloring. We're happy to say, with this nice addition of color, they match to their token counterparts, and also read beautifully on the boards unpainted.

That's going to do it for this update. We'll have more once the MPC arrives, but suffice to say, we are extremely excited for you to receive the game. It's shaping up to be better than we had first imagined.

Have a great weekend, survivors!

PPC Approval Process / Delay
almost 2 years ago – Wed, May 25, 2022 at 07:29:42 AM

Hey Survivors!

Where Have You Been?

The short answer: working ;)

It's been a month since our last update. Please remember we always try to keep updates to a minimum /once per month unless necessary, as we only want to provide the most necessary information, rather than spamming your email accounts.

We're behind on this email as we've been awaiting additional samples (colored mini examples, finalized tracker tokens, small edits to other plastics, etc) that had not arrived yet. These were important to receive as molding is always the longest part of the process, and we needed the appropriate pieces to make the most informed decisions to proceed.

This last month with the PPC arriving reviews, edits, revisions, and additional samples being requested has unfortunately delayed the project. But please keep in mind, this is always and only to improve the product and is definitely allowing us to provide a product we are much happier with.

As we mentioned in our last email, upon receiving the PPC and giving it a quick look, we were very happy with it, but we would also be doing a more extensive review and playing with all the pieces. Upon a deeper dive and review, we noticed some things that would lead to issues upon further and extensive use (such as the player stations), so we wanted to address these.

We're happy to say, as of this Friday, all art files and components should be approved, and we should be proceeding to manufacturing.

We'll be working with our manufacturer to provide a more accurate timeline after these delays. Once we have that, we'll provide that date a long with any other new key information.

We appreciate your patience and your support of the project.

The PPC Has Arrived...
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Apr 22, 2022 at 02:10:12 PM

Hey Survivors!

A very fun, exciting, and quick update awaits...

We came into the studio yesterday and we were greeted with the delivery of the PPC of FLOAT: From the Deep, as well additional samples of the Deep Red Dice, Minis, and the Booster Pack. Please remember, a PPC is a prototype of the game manually created for previewing and review. It is not an example of the final manufactured copy, but it's close.

At first glance, everything is looking really good, but we'll be reviewing the components and cards for at least the next week to get our notes and edits together.

Edits & Revisions

Part of receiving a PPC is to see what is and isn't working with certain components. For the most part we're very happy with everything, but we've started making notes for a few minor changes to things such as:

  • Small adjustments to artwork or colors
  • Resizing the rulebook just a tiny bit so it fits better in the box
  • Adjusting the cuts on the player stations

So over the next week or so, we'll probably play a couple games with the PPC, we'll review the components more thoroughly, make some edits to art files, and provide final notes to the manufacturer to get the game ready for printing.

We will also do a nice photo dump of everything in the next update so you all can get a closer look at the different components as well as some notes of anything being changed for the final product.

Hope everyone has a nice week. We're getting closer and closer to taking a plunge in the deep...

Digital Proofs Approved
about 2 years ago – Fri, Mar 25, 2022 at 10:09:22 PM

Hey Survivors!

Checking in with our latest quick update for the project. All Digital Proofs have been approved. This means next steps will be the manufacturers providing us with a Pre-Production Copy (PPC) for review. Keep in mind, this is not the Manufactured Production Copy (MPC). The PPC is used to test and check all the components and cards to make sure they work properly and look correctly. We also use it to check for any final changes or revisions needed to perfect the product.

A PPC can usually take between 2 - 3 weeks to produce and receive, so we'll be waiting for that to be delivered for review. Once it arrives we'll be sure to provide you all with photos and a possible video showing off everything.

Until then, everyone have a good week and stay safe. More to come from the deep...
